Matt Humphries Opens New Design Business
Sep 24th
The years since joining Morgan Motor Company, straight from university, must have been a blur for Matt Humphries. From the iconic Morgan AeroMax to the reborn Morgan Three Wheeler, Matt, and the wonderful creative team he built around him, have made a lasting impact on MMC. Morgan Car News have had the pleasure of meeting Matt on various occasions and whilst his passion for automotive design is apparent, it isn’t a challenge to see that a desire to turn his skills toward other luxury products is bubbling just beneath the surface. His foray away from automotive design came in the form of a Lonville watch; therefore, it didn’t come as a surprise to MCN when the press release for Matt’s new company, Matthew Humphries Design, crossed our desk: -

Morgan GT3 Win at Silverstone
May 3rd

Morgan GT3 Aero Super Sport 2009
“Dimitri Enjalbert and Johan-Boris Scheier celebrated the maiden win for the AutoGT Racing Morgan Super Sport in the opening round of the FIA GT3 European Championship at Silverstone. Starting from pole position Enjelbert briefly lost the lead but bounced back to hold the advantage until Scheier came under pressure late in the race from the Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS of Christopher Haase. The German swept into the lead on lap 22, but a technical problem forced the Audi into the pits to retire, promoting Scheier back into the lead, which he held until the flag.” – quoted from the FIA GT3 site.
More information, videos of the GT3 race at Silverstone and photos of the Morgan Super Sport and drivers can be found at Talk Morgan.
New Morgan Sports Car
Apr 16th
In a communication with Morgan car forum, Talk Morgan, on April 16th 2009, Mr. Charles Morgan revealed some new tantalising details about the new limited edition Morgan. Based on the Aeromax, the Aeromax 2 (or Aeromax Super Sport as some are speculating it will be called) will be latest model from the artisans at the Morgan factory in Malvern Link. Mr. Morgan had the following to say: -
“…the car will be at Villa d’Este next week (24th – 26th of April 2009) so all our fans have not got too long to wait!
The new car is without doubt the most beautiful Morgan ever built.
I also like the new aerodynamics of the GT3 car very much but the production car is so much more elegant. Is that a bit of a giveaway?”
More to follow as this story develops!

Morgan Aeromax Production Starts
Mar 27th
Just 2 years after its debut at the 2006 Geneva Autoshow as a one off built to order for one of Morgan’s discerning customers, the AeroMax coupe has entered series production at the Morgan factory.
Such was the interest surrounding this unique design that it was decided, with the kind permission of its owner, to make a limited production run of 100 cars, all of which were sold within just a few weeks of its announcement.
Following a two year intense period of production development, and a number of minor improvements to the overall design, the first customer AeroMax is shortly to be delivered.
No expense has been spared in ensuring that the production quality mirrors expectations. Innovations include a world first, the use of high tech super formed aluminium panels for the entire body.
This process allows the most complex of shapes to be made in aluminium which are then fitted over a traditional ash frame. More >
